This is not a place for fear.

I'm scared shitless, however, by the fact that I have to pull all this together. But that's okay. I'm merely scared of the challenge. Fear, however...

If I'm not being blunt and honest in this blog, then there's no point in it. It's just marketing copy, and to hell with that. So let's go.

As of right now I need to acquire an actor for the play, a place to do it, and the gear to do it as I envision it (multi-media). I have an actor in mind, and if I can get him to agree, about 80% of my worries will disappear. Casting is the biggest hurdle in directing. If you get the right cast, things fall into place. If you cast one person wrong, it's something you have to overcome at the beginning of each day.

As for getting the place to do it... The Twin Cities are a great place for independent theatre. So much so that it's incredibly difficult to find a stage that's available. This week I start making the rounds. Since I only have six months to do the show in, my window is somewhat small.

Gear to do the play as I envision it. Here I have a bit of luck. I know a photographer who I believe can capture some of the images I want to project. And the stepson of one of my board members works in digital video. Now I just have to get them to commit...

Wish me luck.
